Parks and Gardens

The Princess Grace Rose Garden and the Exotic Garden may be among the best known, but the Principality has many parks and gardens to discover. They are managed according to eco-friendly principles and are all distinctive in their own way, with very different atmospheres! No less than a fifth of Monaco is covered by green spaces, so visit as many as you can and make memories you'll remember always!

Exotic Garden of Monaco

High on the cliffs overlooking Monaco, the Exotic Garden is a showcase for the exuberance, strangeness and surrealism of nature. (Currently closed - due to re-open in 2025)

Fontvieille Park

Fontvieille Park encircles the Big Top, providing the district with a landscaped park in the heart of the city that’s popular with families. It is home to Mediterranean plants such as olive, pine and cypress trees, alongside more exotic species like Strelitzias, Stenocarpus and Araucarias.

Monaco Botanical Centre

The Botanical Centre in the Exotic Garden is home to rows of greenhouses containing the world’s largest collections of cacti and succulent plants - more than 10,000 altogether!

Princess Antoinette Park

Princess Antoinette Park with its pleasant, verdant gardens and ancient olive trees is one of Monaco’s most popular parks. A splendid green space in the very heart of the Principality, it is first and foremost a children’s park with activities for all ages.

Rainier III Zoological Gardens

Located on the southern flank of the Rock of Monaco, the Rainier III Zoological Gardens were established in 1954 by Prince Rainier III.

Saint Martin Gardens

The Principality’s first public garden, opened in 1816, was built on an abandoned plot to provide work for residents when famine hit the Principality.

The Casino Gardens

The Gardens of the Casino de Monte-Carlo: A Haven of Peace and Luxury.
Right in the very heart of the Principality’s most iconic district, these sumptuous gardens are an oasis of greenery and serenity.

This garden, created in 1994 at the request of Prince Rainier III in accordance with the strictest principles of Zen design by landscape architect Yasuo Beppu (winner of the Grand Prix at the Osaka Flower Expo in 1990), transports visitors to the land of the rising sun, without having to leave the Principality.
