José Cura at the Monte-Carlo Opera

An Argentinean Recital Evening is scheduled for 2 December 2014 at the Salle Garnier

José Cura needs no further introduction.  For years, his name has shone in lights on the facades of the greatest theatres and his intense, innovative performances of operatic heroes have won the hearts of audiences.

Following the success of his Stiffelio in 2013 on stage at the Monte-Carlo Opera, it was time to give him carte blanche for a unique evening concert.

As well as depicting the amorous relationship between the poet Pablo Neruda and the love of his life, Matilde Urrutia, José Cura offers a poetic and musical journey through the music of Argentina.

He will perform the most passionate and sensual songs from this repertoire, which is too little known here.

This music is an irresistible mix of rhythms inherited from Afro-descendants and many different stylistic contributions from the continent of Europe.

From the classicism of songs by Ginestra to more contemporary works by María Elena Walsh, José Cura shows his affinity with this intimate, tender world.  The power of the voice gives way to the science of subtleties and colours …

Konzert José Cura an der Oper von Monte-Carlo

Argentinien steht im Mittelpunkt der Soiree vom 2. Dezember 2014
