The Royal Princess (formerly Renaissance Cruises' R-Eight then Swan Hellenic Cruises' Minerva II) is a cruise ship belonging to the Princess Cruises company.
This Class R ship was built in 2001 as R-Eight for Renaissance Cruises at the Atlantique shipyard in France. Following the bankruptcy of this company, the R-Eight was sold to Swan Hellenic Cruises and renamed Minerva II. She was then transferred to Princess Cruises, who operated the ship under the name of Royal Princess from April 2007. In 2009, the ship was transferred again, this time to the P & O Cruises fleet, and entered into service on 21 May 2011 under the name of Adonia.
She is the smallest ship in the fleet, with a capacity of 710 passengers – a compromise between the very large ships and traditional cruise liners. Her smaller size offers a more intimate atmosphere and also makes it possible to offer a more original choice of stopovers. The ship is modern and very comfortable.
