Theatre, music, films, television :

“If Hollywood had a royal family, Liza Minnelli would be our crown princess.” With these words, Fred Astaire summarises the way the American people see Liza Minnelli.

Her musical career began in the ’60s while she was actively involved in theatre, films and television. She then went on tour many times and played in several films and musicals such as Cabaret in 1972, a role that won her an Oscar.

Even today, the feature song from the film New York New York in 1977, that Frank Sinatra sang a cover of, is still THE singer’s trademark song.

The multi-talented artist and Hollywood’s queen of song has received several Golden Globes, Emmy, Grammy and Tony nominations and awards. Liza Minnelli has collaborated with the greatest stars, including Charles Aznavour, Donna Summer, Sammy Davis Jr, Cliff Richard.

Drop dead gorgeous with incredible charisma to boot, Robin Thicke croons R’n’B with his velvety voice, after writing and producing songs for Michael Jackson, Pink or Christina Aguilera when he was only 21 years of age.

On his 3rd album, « Something Else », a playful and contemporary tribute to 70’s soul music, his song « Sex Therapy » is awarded the title of « sexiest song of the year » in 2009.

"Received Ideas in Prehistory" Exhibition at the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology, Monaco

Monaco's Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology is presenting "Received Ideas in Prehistory"

A new temporary exhibition from 5 April to 30 October 2014 at Monaco's Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology (Visitors' entrance by the Exotic Garden)

Who has never dreamed of living the life of prehistoric Man?

Hunting dinosaurs and giant mammoths, living in a pretty little cave worthy of any self-respecting hunter-gatherer, or spending your time making flint tools.  The reality of our beloved past … or figments of our imagination?

BE CAREFUL, because misconceptions are rife in the world of Prehistory!

To shed light on received ideas, the Museum invites you to investigate for yourself – did fights between Velociraptors and Man really happen?  Is the famous Lucy, discovered in Africa, really our ancestor?  Did all prehistoric people really live in caves?  Did the Gauls erect the menhirs?

A new, attractive and instructive exhibition to distinguish what really happened … from what didn't!
