2013 Monaco International Musical Fireworks Competition

The 45th Monaco International Musical Fireworks Competition will take place on two dates in July and two in August

The 45th Monaco International Musical Fireworks Competition will begin on Saturday 6 July with a display by Canada (10 pm), followed on Friday 26 July by Spain (10 pm), then on Friday 9 August by Italy (9.30 pm) and finally on Wednesday 21 August by China (9.30 pm).

Two prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition.  The first will be awarded by a jury, presided over by the Mayor and comprised of members of the Municipal Council and representatives from the artistic world and civil society.  The second, the public's prize, will be awarded by Internet users voting on the web site www.monaco-feuxdartifice.mc in the "You Can Vote!" section.  Voting will be open from the day after each display.

Spectators can enjoy these displays to the full thanks to a sound system in the Avenue d’Ostende and the Quai Albert Ier and from a unique viewpoint – the Exotic Garden, which is offering free concerts before the fireworks on 6 July and 9 and 21 August.

Once again this year, the firework manufacturers will be showing off their skills from the Quai Rainier III (the semi-floating sea wall in Port Hercule).  They will be presenting shows of around 25 minutes, coordinating the fireworks with the rhythm and melody of the music.
