Presided over by HSH Prince Albert II
Around twenty players from the best women's national teams will participate in this popular competition, which is organised by the Monegasque Volleyball Federation and highly regarded all over the world. At least 18 matches will take place non-stop for two days on an official Olympic court overlooking the sea. The final will be held on Saturday 21 April at 5 pm in the presence of numerous Monegasque celebrities - proof of the Principality's continued support for high-level sporting events.
Launch of the Albert II Trophy Beach Volleyball Tournament
This fifth tournament will also confirm the Monte-Carlo Beach Volleyball's reputation as a friendly, welcoming event. Many other matches and activities are organised to entertain and thrill the spectators, who are loyal followers of this spectacular competition.
The launch of the Albert II Trophy Beach Volleyball Tournament will take place on Thursday 19 April. This tournament is the largest inter-company tournament in Europe, attracting 180 participants from more than twenty Monegasque businesses, who will compete in the Principality in May and June.
Fun activities
For the first time, students from the International University of Monaco will organise fun activities in the Beach village.
Radio Monaco will broadcast a live programme from the Larvotto beach, featuring the female players, and sports celebrities.
There will also be "Inter-Match" events, including colourful dances by an irresistibly charming, all-female Spanish dance group, as well as free promotional gifts and demonstrations on the stands of the tournament's partners … not forgetting a lively eco-beach evening with a DJ!
The best women's national teams on the international circuit will therefore meet in Monaco for an exciting competition.
