On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the death of Ayrton Senna, the Brazil Monaco Project Association is paying tribute to one of the most famous Brazilians and one of the great figures of Formula 1
The Principality will be imbued with the spirit of motor racing on Saturday 17 May 2014 at an evening event in tribute to racing driver Ayrton Senna, organised by the Brazil Monaco Project Association.
On arriving at the Sporting, guests will see two Lotus racing cars driven by Senna, one during his first victory at the Portugal Grand Prix in 1985 and the other that would lead him towards his first victory in Monaco in 1987.
The McLaren driven by Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost in 1988 will also be there! The "Brazilian" Gala dinner will be orchestrated by Michelin-starred chef Joachim Koerper from the Enotria restaurant in Rio de Janeiro, in close collaboration with the chef at the Sporting Monte-Carlo, Alain Cavanna.
Brazilian star Daniela Mercury, performer of the super-hit "Rapunzel," will get the Salle des Étoiles dancing to the rhythm of her warm voice and Brazilian Afro-style music. She will present a show created especially for this evening event.
There will also be an auction sale by Sotheby's in aid of the Instituto Ayrton Senna, with some lovely items, including several with links to Ayrton Senna and motor racing.
