BATILUX Monaco: building for the future

BATILUX Monaco, the only trade fair devoted to construction materials and equipment for luxury dwellings, will take place in the Grimaldi Forum Monaco from Jaunary 22nd to 25th, 2010.

Fifty top international firms dealing in the construction of luxury dwellings will be presenting their newest products and technological developments at this unique trade fair. BATILUX welcomes the general public as well as architects and professional designers and combines an exposition covering an area of 7000 square yards with a series of high level conferences. This year's central theme, "Energy problems in the field of construction", will be discussed by (among others) Denis Vallode and Jean Pistre, two French architects whose agency enjoys undisputed leadership status in the field of contemporary construction. The conference and debate will be led by Le Moniteur, a partner of BATILUX in the field of communications

An increasingly important factor in such trade fairs is the advent of environmental concerns. It is no longer sufficient to apply current construction norms; now the building industry must develop new directions in architecture, propose new technological means and improve living conditions in many ways… in short, create new concepts that reach far beyond mere energy conservation.

The following projects will be presented at the fair:

The Generali Tower in the Défence district of Paris
A business and office building at the Porte des Lilas in Paris
The Biopark Biotechnical Centre in Paris
The Incity Tower in Lyon

BATILUX welcomes several outstanding participants to its trade fair: the Building and Energy department of the Bouygues Group (a leader in the construction field), the GDF Suez Group (a leader in energy research) and Ciat (an innovator in the search for global thermal solutions).

The trade fair enjoys the support of the Government of the Prince of Monaco, largely responsible for decision making in the Principality and very sensitive to the need for sustainable development.
