The 39th Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival

From 15 to 25 January 2015, the spotlight will be on modernity and tradition!

The Monte-Carlo International Circus always aims to be innovative and avant-garde.  The 39th Festival will focus on creativity and modernity.

For example, the Organising Committee, chaired by H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, has just signed up the following two acts:

- The Flick Flak Flyers:  these motorbike riders and world champion acrobats will roar into the circus ring on their powerful machines.  They will enter the Big Top via a ramp situated just behind the Royal Box and will perform some breathtaking feats!

- The Balagan Troupe (from The Netherlands and Sweden) will present an innovative Korean Plank act.  These extremely successful acrobats have opted for a "street art" version of their performance.  The quality of the sequences, the precision of the staging and the disconcerting ease with which they perform will leave the audience spellbound.

But tradition hasn't been forgotten.  The circus is based on tradition;  revisited and perfected, it ensures the survival of this ancient art form.

So the programme also features:

- Eric Niemen (from Italy) who is from a very old circus family and specialises in acrobatics on a low tightrope.  He performs daring forward and backward jumps, flic flacs and pirouettes to the sound of captivating Latin-American music.

- The Silver Stones (from Ukraine) are the real "strong men" of the Festival.   Hanging on to their straps, they perform amazing, powerful acrobatic feats, helped by their impressive muscles!

In all, there are around thirty acts, all equally spectacular.
