Lecture by Axel Kahn at the Prince Pierre of Monaco Foundation

Having travelled across the whole of France twice, Axel Kahn tries to understand why the French are so attached to "La France Profonde" (deepest rural France).

Axel Kahn is a medical doctor and has a Doctorate in science.  He is also involved in the moral and social aspects of medicine, genetics and biotechnology.

On two separate occasions, he achieved his dream of travelling from one side of France to the other.  These journeys enabled him to observe the consequences of the deindustrialisation of France and gave him time to reflect on, understand and respond to the issue of the deep attachment of the French to their country.
