Monaco Clean Beach Campaign

The Mairie de Monaco (Monaco Town Hall), in partnership with Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority, is taking action



The Mairie de Monaco, in partnership with Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority and the Société Monégasque d’Assainissement sanitation company, has decided to renew the "Monaco Plage Propre" clean beach campaign again this year.  This operation aims to raise smokers' awareness of the importance of keeping our beaches clean by reducing the number of cigarette ends left on the sand.

For the third consecutive year, special ashtrays for use on the beach will be distributed to tourists and locals along the Larvotto beach.

Ashtrays will be distributed every weekend from mid-May onwards, depending on the weather.

This will continue until the end of June, then every day from 1 July to 15 September.  

It is estimated that a total of 4,000 ashtrays will be used.

With the renewal of "Monaco Plage Propre" the Mairie and partners of this operation are affirming their commitment to the environment.
