Monaco Gospel Songs Festival
The Monaco Gospel Songs Festival will take place on 28, 29 and 30 July 2016 at 9 p.m. – a not-to-be-missed, magical and unique event featuring Rhoda Scott, Sister Grace and Em’bee Marcel Boungou.
Thursday 28 July 2016 at 9 p.m:
Rhoda Scott, Patron of the Festival, is an American organist and Gospel and Jazz singer, who was born in Dorothy, in the State of New Jersey. This ambassador of the Hammond organ has been delighting a wide audience all over the world for 50 years. She has performed with the great names, such as Ray Charles, George Benson, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Morrow. Nicknamed "The Barefoot Lady," Rhoda Scott is an all-round, multi-talented artist, who can perform gospel, jazz, blues and classical music with the same enthusiasm.
Friday 29 July 2016 at 9 p.m:
Em’bee (Marcel Boungou) has enjoyed a 40-year career. Proclaimed best male singer at the 6th International Gospel Festival in Paris in 1999, Em’bee made a lasting impression with his performance of "A Upendi" in Walt Disney's "The Lion King II."
Saturday 30 July 2016 at 9 p.m:
Sister Grace in concert. Nicknamed "The Christmas Songs Lady," she has a habit of making church windows vibrate during her performances with her faultless vocal technique! Following her triumphant performance with The Golden Gate Quartet ("The American Legend") at the Saint Sulpice Church in Paris on 25 May to an audience of more than 2,000, Sister Grace is the new revelation of Monaco's first Gospel Festival.
These events will take place at Saint Charles' Church in Monaco, 4 Avenue Saint-Charles, 98000 Monaco and are open to all.
