The Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra in February

A concert for a young audience, a lunchtime concert and two symphonic concerts are scheduled for February, followed by a tour at the end of the month.



February is a busy month for the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.

On Wednesday 1 February at 4 pm, the focus is on children with "The Fables of La Fontaine … told in music."  

On Sunday 5 February at 6 pm, Kristjan Järvi is conducting "La Création du Monde" by Darius Milhaud, Shostakovich's Cello Concerto and Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring."

The "Midi Musical" lunchtime concert on Wednesday 15 February at 12.30 pm will feature the Archetis Quintet with a "Voyage in Italy," with Rossini's Sonata No. 1 for Strings, Massenet's "Souvenir de Venise," Boccherini's Quintet in C, Wolf's "Italian Serenade" and Bottesini's Gran Quintetto.

On 26 February at 6 pm, Giancarlo Guerrero is conducting Noble and Sentimental Waltzes and works by Ravel, Liszt and Prokofiev, with Jean‐Yves Thibaudet, piano.

Finally, the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra is performing in Switzerland and Germany from 24 February to 4 March.
