The Secret of Stones is Revealed in Monaco

The new exhibition at the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology will take place from 14 March to 31 May 2015

The Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology presents its new temporary exhibition, "The Secret of Stones," which focuses on rocks and minerals.

As part of the Earth's crust, rocks make up our planet.  They have played an important role in our history – in the way Man has adapted to the environment.

From the time the first tool in carved stone was made 2.6 million years ago, rocks have been a continuous part of Man's everyday life and still continue to inspire artists today.

Until 31 May 2015, visitors will be able to find out about unusual crystals from the local area, exotic minerals, and special types of rock, as well as sculptures by artists.

This exhibition was made possible thanks to the loan of the collections of Etienne Borgo, Bernard Dejonghe, Gérard Fourès, Olivier Notter and Pierre Rolland, as well as the collections of the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology.

Une exposition « Le Secret des Pierres » à Monaco

Visite de l’exposition « Le Secret des Pierres » au Musée d’Anthropologie préhistorique de Monaco le 29 Mai 2015

Dans le cadre de l’exposition « Le Secret des Pierres » (du 14 Mars au 31 Mai 2015), au musée d’Anthropologie préhistorique de Monaco , aura lieu une visite sous la présidence d’honneur de son Altesse Sérénissime le Prince Albert II. 

La visite débutera, par Patrick Simon, Docteur en Géologie ainsi que Elena Rossoni-Notter, Docteur en Préhistoire, à 19h. 

L’entrée est libre.
