|Wonderful news has come to the luxury cruise market. Silversea Cruise Lines has completed building the new Silver Spirit and she is sailing as you read this. The Silversea Spirit was built at Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard, the 36,000 GT, 540-berth ship she entered service the end of 2009. The management and leadership of Silversea is showing some wonderful foresight with this new luxury ship. They have also announced that the other ships in the fleet will be undergoing renovation and upgrading in the next two years. Great news from the luxury leaders at Silversea Cruise Lines about their new ship the Spirit.
The ship’s interiors are being designed by Italian architect Giacomo Mortola, unlike previous Silversea ships, which have been designed by Yran & Storbraaten. SilverseaSpirit will incorporate all the features of Silversea’s current ships, in addition to a new supper club and Asian restaurant, a new lobby bar offering coffee, champagne, wine and spirits and a newly expanded spa.
Silver Spirit's design will mirror the distinctive silhouette of our existing ships and will offer the same standards of luxury that our guests have come to expect," said Manfredi Lefebvre, Silversea's chairman.
The newest vessel in the Silversea family, Silver Spirit offers the distinctive luxuries and celebrated lifestyle Silversea guests adore, plus enticing enhancements including Stars Supper Club, an Asian-themed restaurant, an expansive 8,300-square-foot spa, a resort-style pool, four whirlpools and the largest suites in the Silversea fleet -- 95% with private verandas.
Silver Spirit's 2010 Inaugural Season began with a 91-day Grand Inaugural Voyage sailing from Fort Lauderdale to New York and celebrating maiden calls in over 45 ports. After exploring the natural beauty of South America, the Silver Spirit cruise ship visits the timeless treasures of the Mediterranean and the Caribbean's most idyllic, sun-drenched islands with itineraries designed to be combined into unique, extended vacations.
For Silver Spirit, 2011 features a 119-day Inaugural World Cruise that takes in the tranquillity of French Polynesia, Australia's untamed landscapes, the unique customs and cultures of Asia, Egyptian wonders and favourite Mediterranean ports from Italy and Monaco to Spain and Portugal. Throughout summer, special Mediterranean sailings focus on the Greek Isles or the flavours of Italy. Exclusively for Formula One racing enthusiasts, Silver Spirit cruises into Monte Carlo for an overnight during the 2011 Grand Prix (Voyage 5112). The winter months aboard Silver Spirit are celebrated beneath the warmth of a Caribbean sun.
