Shostakovich's Symphony No. 11 will be released on 2 February on the "OPMC Classics" label

"OPMC Classics," the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra's own recording label, was created in autumn 2010 by Yakov Kreizberg, its Artistic and Musical Director.

Of all the projects that conductor Yakov Kreizberg (who died suddenly in March 2011) had initiated at the Orchestra, the recording label was particularly dear to him.

The first recordings, devoted to the repertoire of Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes – a 3-CD boxed set of Stravinsky, followed by Ravel's "Daphnis et Chloé" and Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade" – were very favourably received by the international press.

"The recording of Shostakovich is excellent […].   I am very happy that we are able to release it …" Yakov Kreizberg.

Shostakovich's Symphony No. 11, recordings made with Yakov Kreizberg as conductor, will be released on 2 February.
