MONACO'S LEGENDARY OPERA AND PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA TAKE STAGE
2001-2002 Artistic Season Begins This Fall
MONACO - With Monaco’s renowned Salle Garnier hall closed for two years undergoing major renovations, Monaco’s celebrated Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra are being relocated to new locations throughout the Principality. Far from a dilemma, the Principality’s numerous music halls and venues, including Monaco’s brand-new cultural center- the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, are thrilled at the opportunity to host some of Europe’s most prestigious artistic groups.
This year’s Opera season promises to be even more exciting than ever as the Monte-Carlo Opera presents seven different performances, three more than the normal four operas presented each season. Special evenings include Monaco’s National Day Opera gala performance on November 21st and the one-night-only “Grand Choeurs d’Operas” (Opera Greats) featuring the works of Gounod, Verdi, Mascagni and others.
