BACKGROUND:
· H.S.H. Prince Albert of Monaco's visit to the NYSE is a symbol of Monaco's long-standing relationship with the U.S., through the legacy of His American-born mother, H.S.H. Princess Grace of Monaco.
· In October 2001, following the events of Sept. 11, the citizens of Monaco, including a large number of Americans, raised money for victims of the terrorist attacks and Prince Albert met with then-Mayor Giuliani to present a $700,000 check for the Twin Towers Fund.
· This year is the 20th anniversary of the death of H.S.H. Princess Grace; 2002 also marks the 20th anniversary of the Princess Grace Foundation-USA, an organization dedicated to helping aspiring young American artists and created in memory of H.S.H. Princess Grace. H.S.H. Prince Albert currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Foundation and will be attending its 20th anniversary gala on the evening of the 22nd in New York City.
