The JCI's European Conference, which has just taken place in Monaco, attracted 2,700 participants on the theme of "Think Future"
High-quality speakers, who have been in business for twenty years, were present to share their world vision:
- Mr. Philippe Sajhau, Vice-President of Smarter Cities IBM France, spoke on New Technologies
- Mr. Felix Finkbeiner, Founder of "Plant for the Planet," focussed on the environment
- Mr. Gildo Pallanca-Pastor, President of Venturi Automobiles, talked on the subject of entrepreneurship
- Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannu, Director of the easyGroup, also spoke on entrepreneurship.
In addition to these presentations, and continuing the "Think Future" theme, the Junior Chamber International Monaco and the Cuomo Foundation launched a new edition of a European-wide competition for setting up a business of a social nature.
The winner of the Business Creation Competition was announced on Saturday during the European Conference. The first prize of 20,000€ was awarded to the Dreamups project presented by Tudor Tarlev, aged 23.
This project is a global opensource platform that makes it possible to create and share sustainable, easy to use solutions with a major impact. www.dreamups.org.
Exceptionally, the Cuomo Foundation decided to award a second, "favourite" prize of 15,000 euros to the Manicare project, which is backed by 23-year-old Cigdem Haznedar. This project aims to create nail bars that only employ women. Because of this, it would have a social impact on women in Turkey, mainly due to training courses that would enable women to go into business and take on a franchise.
