The Principality of Monaco prepares an important space for electric vehicles on Monegasque territory.
Within the partnership with the brand SMART and Daimler AG, signed in December 2009, the Principality renews its automobile fleet of electric SMART on February 28th, 2013.
The ten vehicles “SMART fortwo electric drive” are exclusively used by the State’s departments or by their concessionary companies who are already very committed in the field of zero emission.
The Princely Government encourages the purchase of electric vehicles by granting financial subsidies, and facilitates free reload of the batteries thanks to the 430 electric plugs all over Monaco. More advantages : the public parking spots in the streets of Monaco as well as the yearly registration fee is free of charge for electric vehicles.
At last, the partnership between Nice Côte d’Azur and Monaco offers the reciprocity of recharging electric vehicles and parking in the two agglomerations.
