Co-hosted by Steve and Elaine Wynn
of Wynn Resorts and the Consulate General of Monaco in New York
on October 24, Casino Couture transformed the 7th floor of Sotheby’s
into a glamorous casino salon privé featuring American and European
gaming. Custom-made playing chips and cards were shipped in from
Las Vegas for the event as were gaming tables, equipment and more
than 50 croupiers and staff.
During the Casino Couture evening,
guests had the opportunity to bid on the haute couture created by
Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Ralph Lauren, Zac Posen, Ralph
Rucci and Vera Wang. The dresses, inspired by outfits worn by Grace
Kelly, were featured in the windows of Saks
Fifth Avenue from October 19-26.
Notable attendees to the events
included Prince Albert of Monaco and Miss
Charlene Wittstock, Steve and Elaine Wynn,
Hon. Maguy Maccario Doyle, Consul General of Monaco,
fashion designers Vera Wang and Dennis
Basso, singer Natalie Cole, model Carolyn
Murphy (recently featured in Town & Country
as a Grace Kelly look-alike), Academy Award-winning actress Celeste
Holm, Jamie Niven (Vice Chairman of Sotheby’s
and son of actor David), Ivana Trump, Joyce
Randolph (sole surviving cast member of The Honeymooners),
Sally Parrish Richardson and Rita
Gam (both friends and bridesmaids to Princess Grace), interior
designer Adam Tihany, Emmanuel Perrin,
President & CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels and members of New
York City’s diplomatic and consular corps.
The evening raised over $250,000
for the Princess Grace Foundation-USA.
