a constant presence.
Today, His
Serene Highness Prince Albert II continues to inspire His people
with a thoughtful and dynamic vision as He guides the Principality
towards a bright and vibrant future and, along with His sisters,
The
Princess of Hanover and Princess
Stephanie, carry on Their parents charitable works, patronage
of worthwhile causes and support of cultural and artistic activities.
Prince
Albert lends His name to numerous international charitable causes.
He serves as President of the Monaco
Red Cross, is Deputy Chair of The Princess
Grace Foundation in Monaco and in the USA and since 1982, has
been Honorary Chairman of the association
Monaco Aide et Présence,
founded in 1979 under the auspices of Princess Grace. He also serves
as Chairman for various Monégasque sporting federations and
organizations.
Following
two expeditions to the North Pole regions to report on the effect
of global warming, He established in 2006 the Prince
Albert II of Monaco Foundation, as part of His personal commitment
for the protection of the environment and for sustainable development.
Prince
Rainier III appointed Princess Caroline as the President of
the Garden Club of Monaco in 1982 and President of the Organizing
Committee of the Festival of Monte-Carlo Arts (later renamed the
Printemps
des Arts de Monte-Carlo or Spring Arts Festival) in 1984.
It was also His decision She become the President of the Princess
Grace Foundation in Monaco.
Princess
Caroline succeeded Her Mother as President of AMADE
in 1983 and in 1984 was asked by Prince Rainier to establish the
Princess
Grace Irish Library to hold Princess Graces collection
of books, music and to promote Irish culture. Princess Caroline
realized Her mothers dream of a ballet company for Monaco
in 1985 when
Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo was created. She has served
as President ever since and plays a key role in the activities of
the company one of Monacos finest cultural accomplishments.
Princess
Stephanie is the President of several associations including: the
Monaco Youth Center and the Princess Stephanie Activity Center.
She is Honorary Board member of the Princess
Grace Foundation-USA; President of the International
Monte-Carlo Circus Festival and since 1985 She has presided
over the Organizing Committee of the Princess
Grace Theatre and the Jury of the Monte-Carlo
Magic Grand Prix. In 2004, She created Fight
Aids Monaco to inform about the AIDS epidemic, prevent through
knowledge and awareness and support of those directly or indirectly
affected by the virus.
