LES
ANNÉES GRACE KELLY - PRINCESSE DE MONACO
(THE GRACE KELLY YEARS - PRINCESS OF MONACO)
Grimaldi
Forum Monaco - July 12 - September 23, 2007
For
the first time, the Principality is staging an exhibition of international
scope in homage to Princess Grace of Monaco, to mark the 25th anniversary
of Her passing. In close collaboration with the Prince's Palace,
which has made available personal items not previously displayed
in public, this tribute retraces the various facets of Her life;
from Grace Kelly, Hollywood star, to Princess of Monaco, devoted
supporter of the Principality which adopted and loved her from the
moment she set foot there in 1956.
"We
want this exhibition to recreate the incomparable world
of Princess Grace and evoke the reasons the memory of her
persists in all our minds," explains exhibition curator
Frédéric Mitterrand.
Covering 43,000 ft² at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco,
this unique exhibition immerses visitors in the memories of The
Grace Kelly Years as if leafing through a photo album. Personal
letters, private belongings, clothing, jewelry and fashion accessories,
sound recordings, film excerpts, news reports and much more showcase
Her remarkable life.
To honor the Princess's US heritage,
the Consulate General of Monaco in New York and the Monaco
Government Tourist Office, with Sotheby's is presenting
a separate tribute exhibition in New York City from
October 15-26, 2007 at Sotheby's
New York.

LE
SONGE BY LES BALLETS DE MONTE-CARLO
A Jean-Christophe Maillot creation
July
19-21, 2007 at 8.30 pm
Salle des Princes, Grimaldi Forum Monaco
With the long-awaited re-staging
of Le Songe byJean-Christophe Maillot, loosely based on
William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night's Dream, Les
Ballets de Monte-Carlo invite you to share an enchanting midsummer
experience in Monaco during the month of July.
This
dream-like creation is designed for lovers and dreamers, who enjoy
flirtingwith the improbable and tiptoeing along the brink of dreams…Jean-Christophe
Maillot gives free and gleeful reign to the three driving forces
of his imagination: theatre, music and dance.
Come and meet this “crowd of characters, stirred into a noisy, burlesque and acrobatic round, indulging in joyous practical jokes, licentious mischief, bad manners and even frivolous eroticism…” (La Pensée Russe, January 2006). “Abandon yourself to the lead of the imps and elves who people the universe of the fantastic…” (E.G. Vaccarino), and savor the pleasure of listening to a story in dance, “a talent that has become a label for Jean-Christophe Maillot” (Le Monde, December 2006).
Choreographer:
Jean-Christophe Maillot.
Music: Félix Mendelssohn,
Daniel Teruggi, Bertrand Maillot.
Set Design: Ernest
Pignon-Ernest.
Costumes: Philippe
Guillotel
