A Special Concert by the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra on 2 December

Conductor Kent Nagano and pianist Evgueny Kissin will perform works by Ravel, Grieg and Strauss at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco

The concert on 2 December is part of a series of concerts entitled the "Great Season."

Kent Nagano is equally at ease with all types of music.  Whether it's classical, romantic or contemporary, he includes forgotten repertoires in the concerts and operas he conducts, offering an opportunity to discover different perspectives.  He is renowned for his clear, elegant and intelligent performances.

Evgeny Kissin played his first notes on the piano at a very early age.  He entered the Gnessin School of Music in Moscow at the age of six, under the guidance of Anna Pavlovna Kantor.  He made his début at the BBC Proms in London in 1990, and in the United States, conducted by Zubin Mehta.  In the same year, he opened the Carnegie Hall's centenary season.

On Sunday 2 December, Nagano and Kissin will perform Ravel's La Valse and Boléro, Grieg's Piano Concerto and Strauss's Don Juan with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.

As a prelude to the concert, there will be a "presentation of the work" at 5 pm by André Peyrègne, Director of the Regional Conservatoire of Nice.
