December 2014 in the Company of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo

The Compagnie des Ballets de Monte-Carlo, Monaco Dance Forum and the Princess Grace Academy are joining forces to make the Principality a place dedicated to dance

In December 2014, Monaco Dance Forum is inviting a host of international companies and choreographers to the Principality.

The programme for 13 to 18 December 2014 will include Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Yabin Wang, Mélissa Von Vépy, Emanuel Gat and Maguy Marin, as well as La Veronal Company.

On 21 December 2014, cinema fans will be able to watch a screening of a film about Serge Lifar, organised by Monaco Audiovisual Archives.

The eagerly awaited and unmissable highlight of the festive season is the legendary Bolshoi Ballet in "The Taming of the Shrew" ("La Mégère Apprivoisée") on 20 and 21 December 2014, choreographed by Jean-Christophe Maillot.  This work received a standing ovation at its première in Moscow in July 2014 and is a milestone in the history of this famous Russian company - it's the first time that the Bolshoi Ballet has invited a foreign choreographer to create a narrative ballet for its dancers, in a full-length evening performance.

After this prestigious finale, which will bring the Monaco Dance Forum to a close, the Compagnie des Ballets de Monte-Carlo is offering a major show, "Faust," by Jean-Christophe Maillot, from 28 to 31 December 2014, a visually striking, hypnotic ballet.
