A new world sports event will take place at Port Hercule from 20 to 23 October

For the first time ever, the World Rowing Championships will be held in Monaco, from 20 to 23 October.

No less than 750 competitors from 150 clubs in 31 different nations will compete for the title of World Champion on the waters of Monaco – record participation in comparison with the eight other years since this championship was first created.

Whether for solo rowers, doubles or fours, this event promises to be an unforgettable competition.

The opening ceremony will take place on Thursday 20 October at 8 p.m. at the Rainier III Auditorium (by invitation).  The whole of Friday 21 October will be devoted to the qualifying series for the A and B finals.  All the finals will take place from Saturday morning on a 6-km (3.7-mile) course with six buoy turns – a not-to-be-missed spectacle!
