An amazing touristic product that should appeal to rail tourism enthusiasts
The Russian rail company Russian Railways (RDZ) is launching this new travel concept. It's a step back in time for travelers who know how to take time to enjoy their journey.
Our Russian tourists can now go on a sort of pilgrimage, following in the tracks of their ancestors who contributed to the success of the Côte d'Azur. In the 19th century, the Russian community breathed new life into the Côte d'Azur, as witnessed by the Russian Cathedral in Nice and the beautiful Ottoman villas in Monaco.
Today, more and more Russian visitors visit the Principality. Regular flights between Nice and Moscow or St. Petersburg are evidence of this enduring love affair. From now on, it will also be possible to travel from the Red Square to Monaco by train.
The train will leave Moscow once a week and will arrive in Nice 50 hours later. Its route will include a circuit around the great European capitals, such as Minsk (Belarus), Warsaw (Poland), the Czech Republic, Vienna (Austria), Brenner (between Austria and Italy), Milan and Genoa (Italy) before arriving in Nice.
Travelers are offered luxury class - a compartment with a double bed, shower, WC and bar, or second class, a compartment with one or two beds and a shower at the end of the carriage. Spartan comfort, to say the least … Bookings can be made directly online. A way of traveling that allows you to take time to enjoy the journey, in this stressful, fast-paced world that leaves little time for nostalgia.
