Russian Year Celebrates Dance in Monaco

An exhibition of the most beautiful depictions of the Ballets Russes de Monte-Carlo will be on show from 15 June to 27 September 2015

Throughout the summer, as part of Russian Year in Monaco, the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer is organising an exhibition in homage to the great works of the Ballets Russes, from 15 June to 27 September 2015 at the Atrium of the Casino.

To portray some of the unique moments of dance, life-sized silhouettes of dancers will be displayed in the Atrium, including dancers from the shows "The Spirit of the Rose," "Petrouchka," "Carnival" and "The Afternoon of a Faun."

Also on display will be two giant reproductions of programmes – one from 9 April 1911, featuring "Giselle" and "Scheherazade," and the other from 22 April 1913, featuring "The Blue God," the Polovtsian Dances from "Prince Igor" and "Les Sylphides."

There will also be two posters by Cocteau, making reference to the first work by the Ballets Russes.

Finally, two 4-metre by 3-metre stage sets from "Narcisse" and "Petrouchka" will be exhibited.

Opening times:  Opening hours of the Casino
