The production was restaged this year in the UK and has all the magic of the cult film of 1987, in which Patrick Swayze played a breakthrough role. This new stage adaptation features the same sensual choreography and all the hits from the best-selling soundtrack of all time - Time Of My Life, Hungry Eyes, Hey Baby and Do You Love Me?
In the summer of 1963, Baby (aged 17) is on holiday with her parents and older sister in mid August in a holiday village in the Catskill Mountains of New York. She is not interested in much until, by chance, she comes across the staff quarters at a night-time party. She is mesmerised by the sultry dances and pounding rhythm. She wants join in, especially when she sees Johnny Castle, the village dance teacher.
