The Grimaldi Forum Monaco has Announced its 2014 Major Summer Exhibition

"Artlovers – History of Art in the Pinault Collection" will run from 12 July to 7 September 2014

The "Artlovers" exhibition brings together almost 50 works from the Pinault Collection (more than a third of which have never been shown in previous exhibitions of the collection), by 33 artists.

It features a range of media (painting, sculpture, installations, videos, drawing, etc.) by different generations of artists (the greatest names from 1960s to 1990, as well as younger artists) from various geographical areas (Europe, America, Asia and the Middle East).

This diversity, which is so characteristic of the Pinault Collection, reflects its spirit of openness, commitment and generosity.

New "Artlovers" App for the Exhibition at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco

The exhibition "ArtLovers, Stories of Art in the Pinault Collection" will take place from 12 July to 7 September 2014

The Grimaldi Forum Monaco is offering all art lovers a new mobile app, which is available free on App Store and Google play.

The "ArtLovers" app offers a new approach to the major works from the Pinault Collection that will be on show at the Grimaldi Forum.  It includes the latest information on the 33 artists represented, preparations for the exhibition and news of the exhibition, plus interviews and other exclusive videos, not forgetting useful practical information for all visitors.

The real bonus of the ArtLovers app is that it creates a community where art lovers can share their opinions and experiences of the exhibition and, more generally, can declare their love for art by adding their favourites and discoveries.

Opening of major exhibition for summer 2014 at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco

The contemporary works of the “Artlovers” exhibition will be on display until 7 September 2014

The “Artlovers” exhibition brings together almost 50 works from the Pinault Collection (more than a third of which have never been shown as part of previous exhibitions of the collection), by 33 artists.

The exhibition includes the most famous pieces of the artists concerned – major series (by Maurizio Cattelan, Jeff Koons, Akashi Murakami and his large polyptych designed especially for Palazzo Grassi) as well as rarer, and even original works from Rudolf Stingel to Bertrand Lavier, Jonathan Monk or Sherrie Levine. A third of the pieces on display in Monaco have never previously been shown during exhibitions of the Pinault Collection.

The exhibition bears witness to the diversity of media (painting, sculpture, installation, video, drawing, etc.), the generations of the artists (the biggest names from the 1960s to the 1990s are set alongside younger artists) and the geographical regions from which they originate (Europe, America, Asia, the Middle East).

This diversity, so characteristic of the Pinault Collection, also reflects its spirit of openness, commitment and generosity.

"Artlovers" at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco

This major summer exhibition presents contemporary works from the Pinault Collection. It is open until 7 September 2014

The "Artlovers" exhibition brings together almost fifty works from the Pinault Collection (more than a third of which have never been displayed before in previous exhibitions of the Collection), by 33 artists.

It includes the most famous works by artists who are represented in the Collection (including Maurizio Cattelan, Jeff Koons and Akashi Murakami and his large polyptych, designed especially for the Palazzo Grassi), as well as much rarer and unexhibited works – from Rudolf Stingel to Bertrand Lavier, Monk, and Sherrie Levine, a third of the works on display in Monaco have never been shown before in previous exhibitions of the Pinault Collection.

The exhibition features a wide range of media (including paintings, sculpture, installations, video and drawings), different generations of artists (the great names of the 1960s to the 1990s, alongside younger artists) and the geographic areas they originate from (including Europe, America, Asia and the Middle East).

This diversity, which is so characteristic of the Pinault Collection, reflects its spirit of openness, commitment and generosity.

Don't miss the "questions box" at the end of the visit!  Visitors are invited to reply to three questions relating to the exhibition in front of a camera.  The video is then posted on Facebook.
