2014 Summer Concerts at the Prince's Palace, Monaco

The Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra will perform six concerts in the Courtyard of Honour of the Prince's Palace from 17 July to 7 August 2014

In 1959, His Serene Highness Prince Rainier III and Louis Frémaux, the Orchestra's Musical Director, launched a summer season, which, over the years, has become a must for music lovers all over the world.

In July and August, the Prince is hosting open-air concerts in the Courtyard of Honour at the Palace, performed by the Orchestra and prestigious conductors and soloists.

The Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra presents its 2014-15 season

More than 60 concerts will take place at home and abroad this year

The Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra (OPMC)’s new season, under the artistic and musical direction of Gianluigi Gelmetti, has been organised to include many different musical styles.

The “Grand Saison” will bring together fifteen concerts which will take place at the Rainier III Auditorium and at Grimaldi Forum. This series will show off the Orchestra’s grand symphonic concerts.

Five “Salle Garnier” concerts are also planned. These slightly smaller performances of classical works will take place at the Monte-Carlo Opera.
A cine-concert (a concert along with the projection of a film) will also be included in this series.

The Église Saint-Charles will also host four spiritual concerts which will be free and open to all.

Three “Jeune Public” concerts will also be offered for children accompanied by their parents at the Rainier III Auditorium.

As far as the early evening is concerned, the twelve Happy Hour Musicals have been a great success along with the series of chamber music concerts.  

Two travelling concerts will also visit the Maison de l’Amérique Latine in Monaco. There will be a reception after the concert finishes where spectators can get to know the musicians over drinks in a friendly atmosphere.

The Philharmonic Orchestra will take part in various events throughout the year, including the Gala of the Rainier III Music Academy, the Princess Grace Dance Academy’s Gala, and the Génération Virtuoses festival in Antibes.

In July and August, six concerts will take place in the Prince’s Palace, which will be a magical opportunity for an international audience to listen to the orchestra and its soloists.

Finally, the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra will perform not only inside the Principality but in countries such as France, China, Italy and more.
