The Prize Giving of Golden Foot Nominations Monaco
The ceremony for the title of “Best Player of the Year-Golden Foot Award 2014” were announced took place this year in Qatar in the United Arab Emirates.
Didier Drogba – winner of the title last year – announced the names of the 10 candidates who were voted for by websurfers :
Thierry HENRY, Andres INIESTA, Marta VIEIRA DA SILVA, Manuel NEUER, Andrea PIRLO, Franck RIBERY, Cristiano RONALDO, Wayne ROONEY, Thiago SILVA, Yaya TOURE’.

The final voting phase is now open online and fans are invited to vote for their champion directly on the site www.goldenfoot.com or on Golden Foot Award Monaco’s Facebook page, before 24th August.
The prize-giving ceremony will take place in the Principality of Monaco on Monday 13th October 2014 with a gala evening, in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. During the Gala awards will be presented to the winner of the “Best Player of the Year-Golden Foot Award 2014”, voted for by the fans online, and to 5 of the greatest champions in the history of football in the category “Football Legends -Golden Foot Award 2014”.
A detail of this Award is that the winners leave their footprints in bronze on the “Champions Promenade” – an open-air museum along the Principality of Monaco’s waterfront. This Walk of Fame of the greatest footballers of all time was the brainchild of Antonio Caliendo, President of the World Champions Club (WCC) and the first professional agent in the history of football.
