The Start of a New Gastronomic Autumn Season for Philippe Joannès at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo

A busy schedule for the Executive Chef of the Fairmont Monte-Carlo, Best Artisan in France



After hosting a gala dinner to celebrate the "Little Chefs by the Fairmont Monte-Carlo" (following a cookery competition for 50 pupils from two schools in Monaco), chef Joannès had the honor of a visit to his kitchens by the teams taking part in the third series of the "MasterChef" program.  This was the first time that most of the contestants had had the opportunity to work in a professional kitchen.

The fifteen remaining amateur cooks in the competition were divided into two teams and welcomed by chef Philippe Joannès.  They had to recreate one of his starters and a main course, and were judged by a jury of Bocuse d'Or chefs.

Next, chef Joannès and his team will be focusing all their attention on the yachting event par excellence, the 22nd Monaco Yacht Show.  The organizing committee has selected the hotel's catering service, "Private Dining by Fairmont Monte Carlo" to be an official partner of the Monaco Yacht Show.

All the creativity of the chef and his team will be showcased at the Upper Deck Lounge, for which a large tent has been specially erected by the swimming pool on Port Hercule.

Private Dining by Fairmont Monte Carlo - Café will offer gourmet buffets and a bar from 10 am to 6.30 pm.

A "bespoke" catering service will also be offered to yachts moored or anchored in the harbor, for private receptions, and to the exhibitors in the show.

Finally, the Best Artisan in France will soon become a Knight of the National Order of Merit of the French Republic.  Philippe Joannès will be presented with his insignia on 13 September 2012 in Nice.
