Carré Doré presents Zoriko Dorzhiev from July 12th to July 25th
Zorikto Dorzhiev was born in 1976 in Ulan-Ude, the capital of Buryatia, one of the republics of the Russian Federation set along the border with Mongolia.
In 2002 he graduated "magna cum laude" the State Arts Institute in Krasnoyarsk (Western Siberia).
Zorikto's art is closely associated with folk tradition and the Buddhist outlook of nomadic Buryat people. Life on the move, as a symbol of human existence - transition from birth to death,-
provides unique philosophical key that helps to decode this ever-changing language of the Universe.Zorikto: "To me, a nomad is a contemplator. He is not a tourist looking for new sensations and not a searcher of a better life. Rather, he is an artist, a poet, a philosopher. Usually, he is a loner.
: "To me, a nomad is a contemplator. He is not a tourist looking for new sensations and not a searcher of a better life. Rather, he is an artist, a poet, a philosopher. Usually, he is a loner. It is easier to contemplate in solitude. Whom to share one's thoughts and discoveries with ? Sooner or later, the steppe will make him meet other nomads. Pure and vivid color is emotional. Tone is too logical.
And I would like to talk if not in a wisper, then in a quiet voice. You make yourself better understood this way." Robert Turman, Professor of Indo-Tibetian Studies at Columbia University, had to say the following "Zorikto's paintings are a joy to look at. They are doorways into an artistic world, a world that makes our habitual world seem more vivid when we return. I am happy to visit them. All are invited to join". Zorikto Dordzhiev is presented in Monaco and all over the world by a famous Russian "Khankhalaev Gallery", Moscow.
