The 12th Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival will pay tribute to jazz music and jazz performers
The 12th Monte Carlo Jazz Festival will take place from Thursday 16 November to Saturday 2 December 2017 at the Opéra Garnier, Monte-Carlo.
At this event, the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort wished to pay tribute to jazz music and jazz artists. Throughout the Festival, the Resort will rock to the sound of jazz, with some new events. Jazz fans and visitors to the Monte-Carlo Bay will be able to prolong their "jazz experience" while sitting comfortably at the Michelin-starred Blue Bay restaurant or while sipping a cocktail at the Blue Gin.
An original closing night for the Michelin-starred Blue Bay restaurant!
Saturday 18 November will mark the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival's first launch weekend, as well as the last evening before the annual closure* of the Blue Bay, the Michelin-starred restaurant at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort.
*Annual closure from Sunday 19 November, after the brunch, to Tuesday 19 December inclusive.
For the occasion, the famous American Saxophonist Rick Margitza, who has played with Miles Davis and others, will perform live in the restaurant. With regard to the food, talented Michelin-starred chef Marcel Ravin will delight his guest's palates with his innovative culinary style - two talented people in one evening at a closing event that promises to be very special!
It's going to be jazzy at the Blue Gin!
On Friday 1 December, guitarist and singer Micael Sene, who is influenced by reggae, soul, rock & blues, will host the evening at the Blue Gin, accompanied by resident DJ Nicolas Saad. This date is symbolic, as it also marks the end of the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival!

From when they first arrive, visitors will be immersed in the world of jazz. Whether in the lobby, on the terrace of L'Orange Verte, in the Michelin-starred Blue Bay restaurant or the Blue Gin, jazz music will be everywhere!
Saxophonist Ike Leo will perform live ... As soon as they enter, visitors will be immersed in the artist's world of jazz.

About the artists
MICAEL SENE, Guitarist and singer, who is originally from Paris and has been a professional musician for around 25 years.
Influences: Reggae, soul, rock, blues and more. He has collaborated (on stage and in the studio) with artists such as The Wailers, Alpha Blondy, Bernard Allison, Neg Marron and Admiral T ... whom he has accompanied on stage throughout the world, including Paris, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Madrid, London, Dakar, New York, etc.
RICK MARGITZA, American saxophonist. Performed with Miles Davis between 1988 and 1991.
During this period, he recorded for the Blue Note label. He has featured alongside Eddie Gomez, Tony Williams, Bobby Hutcherson, Maria Schneider, McCoy Tyner and Chick Corea. In 2003, he moved to Paris and performed with Martial Solal, François Moutin, Louis Moutin, Ivan Paduart, Ari Hoenig, Jean-Michel Pilc, Franck Amsallem and Manuel Rocheman. He is part of the Moutin Reunion quartet, as tenor saxophonist.
