VILLA SAUBER

Thursday 19 September at 7 pm
"Borrowed Words", a performance of Oriol Vilanova by Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (in Italian). Followed by a talk with the collector (in English).
Free admission, subject to available capacity, booking required: [email protected]
For Borrowed Words (2016), a collector declares their unconditional love for their collection. The collector openly admits that the collection brings them pleasure. These sincere words emphasise the blind passion and sometimes painful intensity of the relationship between collector and collection. The collector discusses their collection, piece by piece, with humour and references to well-known songs, and surrealist poetry.
Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo began collecting contemporary art in 1992. Three years later, she created the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo foundation, which is now a famous Turin institution. She is chair of the Global Private Museum Association, of which her foundation is a member.
Oriol Vilanova (Manresa, 1980) lives in Brussels. Browsing the flea markets, his favoured hunting grounds, he builds up a collection of postcards to create a "thinking machine" that provides the conceptual foundations for his plays, installations and performances.
The performance, in Italian, will be followed by a talk in English with Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo.

Sunday 27 October
You can visit the exhibition Step by step until Sunday 27 October at Villa Sauber.
