Everyone on stage!
The Café de Paris Monte-Carlo is one of those places that belongs to everyone without ever losing its aura. Since 1868, it has been the living balcony of the Place du Casino. A more accessible alternative to the glitz and glamour of the Casino and theHôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo: that's how François Blanc came up with the idea for what was then known as the Café Divan. An open-air theatre where people come for no particular reason, just to see... or be seen. People often stay longer than expected. Loyal Monegasques, visiting artists, discreet gamblers or families on holiday: here, worlds rub shoulders, look at each other, meet. This has always been the strength of the place: welcoming without distinction!
Change without erasing
Renovated many times, the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo underwent a new transformation in 2022, without sacrificing its identity. While the façade has been restored to its original curves, the restaurant has been given a new height, with two light-filled levels. Inside, the warm woodwork, terrazzo mosaics, chequered marble and stained glass windows are reminiscent of Parisian and Milanese brasseries. Here and there are subtle nods to the Belle Époque, while at the entrance, a monumental chandelier alone embodies the spirit of this revival: contemporary elegance proud of its heritage.
A la carte terraces
At Café de Paris Monte-Carlo, the experience is as much outside as inside. Set on the same level as the Place du Casino, the historic "lemonade terrace" remains the privileged vantage point for observing the Monegasque ballet. Upstairs, in the extension of the gastronomic area - the "Brasserie Chic" - a panoramic terrace overlooks the palm trees and Belle Époque façades in a peaceful setting. And in the gardens, another more intimate terrace offers a more relaxed, leafy setting. Three terraces, three different worlds, plus the rooftop of theAmazónico Monte-Carlo, a tropical restaurant with a festive atmosphere.
At the table, tradition in motion
At Café de Paris Monte-Carlo, the plate tells a story of taste and loyalty. Crepe Suzette flambéed at the table - said to have been born here under the watchful eye of a future King of England - veal liver with parsley, andouillette, tartar by the knife... the great classics of French brasserie come together here, with a Mediterranean touch. Under the leadership of chef Victor Marion, the menu evolves with the seasons, combining fresh produce, tasty dishes and more plant-based options. Each dish celebrates a generous, attentive art of living that is always on the move.
In the end, Café de Paris Monte-Carlo is a lively and popular place, in the noblest sense of the word. A brasserie that is intimately Monegasque and open to the world.
