Le jardin de l'Unesco

A garden overlooking the port of Fontvieille

Overlooking the district and port of Fontvieille, the Jardin de l'Unesco offers magnificent views of the cliffs of the Rocher, the Prince's Palace and the boats moored below. In this small landscaped setting of Mediterranean species, shady benches and pleasant fountains punctuate the walks.

Harmony between nature and culture

Conceived as a space for contemplation open to all, this garden is also a veritable open-air exhibition, where numerous works of contemporary art are showcased in the heart of the flowerbeds. It is a stop-off point on the Chemin des Sculptures Rainier III, an itinerary of more than 200 works through the different districts of Monaco.

Among the masterpieces installed in Le jardin de l'Unesco, you can admire César's " The Fist " (1980), Alessandro Montalbano 's " And the Seventh Day " (1995) and Antoine Bourdelle 's " Crouching Bathing Girl " (1906-1907).

A place to slow down

Popular with locals in fine weather for a lunch break away from the hustle and bustle, this garden attracts walkers at all hours. It's an ideal place to relax in the shade of a pine tree, stroll in the soothing murmur of the fountains or take a photo in front of the magnificent bougainvillea arch that adorns one of the entrances. In the evening, it's the perfect place for a romantic getaway, with the lights of Fontvieille harbour as a backdrop.
