A garden overlooking the port of Fontvieille
Overlooking the district and port of Fontvieille, Le jardin de l'Unesco offers magnificent views of the cliffs of the Rocher, the Prince's Palace and the boats moored below. Shady benches and pleasant fountains punctuate the stroll through this small landscaped setting of Mediterranean species.
Harmony between nature and culture
Conceived as a space for contemplation open to all, this garden is also a veritable open-air exhibition, featuring numerous works of contemporary art in the heart of the flowerbeds. The garden is a stopover on the Chemin des Sculptures Rainier III, an itinerary of more than 200 works through the various districts of Monaco.
Among the masterpieces installed in Le jardin de l'Unesco, you can admire César's " Le poing " (1980), Alessandro Montalbano 's " Et le septième jour " (1995) and Antoine Bourdelle 's " Grande baigneuse accroupie " (1906-1907).
A place to slow down
Popular with locals in fine weather for a lunch break away from the hustle and bustle, this garden attracts walkers at all hours. It's the ideal place to relax in the shade of a pine tree, stroll in the soothing murmur of the fountains or take a photo in front of the magnificent bougainvillea arch that adorns one of the entrances. In the evening, it's perfect for a romantic getaway, with the lights of Fontvieille harbor as a backdrop.
