La Condamine
Get to know the real Monaco and its local population by heading to the Condamine market, which stretches across the Place d'Armes. This wide esplanade is decorated every morning with stalls of delicately scented fruit, vegetables and fresh flowers, surrounded by shady arcades where you can enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat while reading your newspaper.
This must-see place for Monegasques has a covered market with around twenty booths serving Monegasque, Italian, south-western and even Asian specialities... conviviality, quality and diversity are the watchwords.
After this first stop, continue your stroll towards rue Princesse Caroline (pedestrian zone), the ideal place to stroll, eat, shop or play with your children in the small square.
At the end of this street, you can admire Port Hercule, which was originally a natural bay, and its yachts, with its large esplanade that hosts world-famous events such as the Jumping International de Monte-Carlo and the Monaco Yacht Show every year, as well as the fair in summer and autumn, and the Christmas village in winter. This is also where you'll find the Rainier III nautical stadium and its heated seawater swimming pool.
Just down the promenade, take a gourmet break in one of the many restaurants facing the sea, where you can extend the pleasure of your meal with an evening of music. During the Formula 1 Grand Prix, this area is transformed into an open-air party zone.
Don't miss the legendary Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit. You'll notice the red and white vibrators at the side of the road, which help the drivers to see where the limit of the track is during the race. You can put yourself in the drivers' shoes by taking your place on the starting grid, which is located next to the Casino supermarket, and admire the legendary Chicane and Rascasse bends.
Finally, the new setting for the Car Collection of H.S.H. the Prince of Monacoinaugurated on 8 July 2022, will take you back in time to relive the highlights of the princely family's history, with unique pieces such as the Chrysler that Prince Rainier III had specially brought from the United States to pick up Princess Grace from the port, and the Lexus with its glass cockpit at the rear, built for the royal wedding of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and H.S.H. Princess Charlène in 2011.
