Mareterra, Monaco’s new eco-neighbourhood

 Mareterra is transforming the Principality with an additional six hectares.

To celebrate the opening of this extraordinary project, environmentally responsible displays lit up the sky on 4 December, featuring concerts, drone shows and pyrotechnic displays.

Since 5 December, the public has had the pleasure of discovering these new spaces, which highlight the scale and uniqueness of Mareterra. Among the main attractions are the Prince Jacques promenade by the sea with its unique rocky atmosphere, a blue grotto allowing curious visitors to explore the heart of the development, a relaxation area conducive to meditation, green spaces, villas and residential buildings, as well as the Quai du Petit Portier, complete with a marina.

These living spaces have been shaped by some of the world’s most renowned architects, including Renzo Piano, Tadao Ando and Lord Norman Foster. When asked by the Financial Times, the Sovereign expressed his satisfaction and highlighted the eco-friendly nature of this unique project: “Mareterra embodies our era’s call for a renewed harmony between humanity and nature. It is an initiative that reflects Monaco’s long-standing commitment to preserving the unique beauty and biodiversity of the Mediterranean whilst meeting the needs of a modern and sustainable principality.”
