Monaco kicks off the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles in Morocco!

Three rallies in January, three Grand Prix races in May, followed by the Africa Eco Race in December… an integral part of the Principality’s DNA for over a century, motor racing in Monaco takes many forms throughout the year!

A calendar that has been running for several years and now includes the grand start of the famous Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles in Morocco. A love affair between the Principality and motor racing that makes sense in more ways than one.

The Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc is, above all, a human adventure that brings together women from all over the world in the heart of the Moroccan Sahara. An epic journey with an ambitious CSR programme focused on women’s empowerment and respect for the countries it passes through.

And there is no question of the 10,600 participants finding their way from Monaco to the beach at Essaouira – the finish line – using new technologies: since its inception in 1990, competitors have not used GPS and must rely on traditional off-road navigation.

The teams will therefore gather at the start village in the Espace Fontvieille. Curious onlookers will be able to meet them and immerse themselves in the world of the Gazelles! A host of activities will punctuate the day, leading up to the start signal given by H.S.H. Prince Albert II at 2.15 pm.

And for this 33rd edition setting off from the Principality, a 100% Monegasque crew comprising Céline Cottalorda and Sylvie Bertrand will fly the flag for the country in the 4x4/truck category. As they say in Monegasque: Daghe*!

*Come on!
