Villa Paloma: an exceptional place
The Villa Paloma is set in the heart of an antique-style garden designed by Octave Godard, a pupil of the landscape architect Édouard André. This green space offers spectacular views over Monaco, and hosts a number of works to complement the exhibitions organised indoors.
Built in 1913, Villa Paloma features stained glass windows by local artist Fassi Cadet, as well as period cornices, columns and mosaics. The grand staircase serving the building's four levels allows visitors to appreciate in detail the Art Nouveau features that make this authentic décor so special.
The other site of the New National Museum of Monaco
Acquired by the Principality in 1995, the Villa Paloma became the second exhibition venue for the New National Museum of Monaco in 2010. The space has been designed to reflect the cultural institution's policy of acquiring contemporary art. Erik Boulatov, Gilbert & George, Fausto Melotti, Duane Hanson, Tom Wesselmann, Joan Miró and Francisco Tropa are just some of the great names in the visual arts whose work has been exhibited at the Villa Paloma. In the summer of 2025, Coco Chanel's Années folles will showcase the New National Museum of Monaco's commitment to a dialogue between contemporary art and the applied arts.
A resource you need to know
At the entrance to the Villa Paloma, on the garden level, is a mediation space designed as a web media by its creators.
