Getting to Monaco by plane

Nice Airport: Monaco's air gateway

The main airport near Monaco is Nice-Côte d'Azur International Airport. Featuring two runways, this air transport hub operates some 100 national and international routes and hosts regular helicopter flights, not to mention a significant private aviation offering.

The terminal comprises two terminals, linked by tramway and shuttle buses from the airport's various parking lots. Some twenty round-trip flights link Nice-Côte d'Azur to Paris, and there are regular year-round services to and from major European cities (London, Berlin, Barcelona, Madrid and Stockholm) and Gulf destinations (Dubai, Doha). Summer destinations are even more numerous, with flights from New York, Washington, Montreal, Rabat, Algiers, Tunis and Dakar.
A third terminal is dedicated to business aviation.

Getting to Monaco from Nice-Côte d'Azur airport

To reach Monaco from Nice-Côte d'Azur airport, travelers can take the bus, cab or helicopter.

The regular "Zou!" shuttle service makes 52 round-trips a day between Nice-Côte d'Azur airport and various areas of Monaco (Villa Paloma, Monaco SNCF train station, Tourist Office, Grimaldi Forum Monaco, Larvotto) via line 80 of the regional bus network.

Cabs are also available to cover the 30 kilometers between Nice-Côte d'Azur airport and Monaco by road. Taxis are available from Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.

Finally, for very fast transfers between Nice-Côte d'Azur International Airport and Monaco heliport, several service providers (Héli Air Monaco, Monacair/Blade) offer helicopter flights to the west of Monaco in just 7 minutes, especially when traffic is heavy on the A8 freeway.

Three business terminals

There are two other airports close to Monaco. Cannes-Mandelieu International Airport, some sixty kilometers from the Principality, focuses exclusively on business aviation. The Golfe de Saint-Tropez airport, some 120 kilometers from the center of the Principality, handles a few seasonal connections and numerous private flights. Including Nice airport's specialized business terminal, there are three business aviation hubs on the Côte d'Azur.
