Monabike

Monaco's bicycle service, called MonaBike, is an automated system of electrically-assisted bicycle stations offered by the Government of Monaco and the Monaco Bus Company.

This system complements the 7 daytime bus routes, the Bateau-Bus that crosses the Port Hercule and the two night-time routes. This service is part of a policy of action to reduce greenhouse gases, improve shared mobility and enhance the Principality's living environment.

Initiated in 2010 and launched commercially in 2013, the trial of the self-service electric bicycle system has reached maturity, with the number of stations doubling and the number of bicycles and docks tripling. The new system offered by the Canadian company PBSC, already present in 32 cities around the world such as Montreal, London, New York and Barcelona, has been operational in the Principality since 13 July 2019. With 2,100 subscribers and 342,000 journeys made in 2020, this new MonaBike offering is a huge success and has quadrupled its ridership.

Monabike has almost 350 bikes and 49 stations. Whatever their journey in the Principality, users will find a station close to their place of departure and arrival. The service is open to subscribers as well as occasional users aged 16 and over.

The Android or iOS application and your bank card are all you need to take a bike immediately after opening your account online from your smartphone or the MonaBike website.

How does it work?

- I choose my offer on the monabike.mc website or directly in the downloadable PBSC app ;
- I pick up a bike with my contactless CAM card by presenting it on the clip or with my smartphone by scanning the QRCode on the bike via the app;
- I return my bike to a free space at a station. The green light on the clamp confirms the end of the journey. An e-mail confirming the return will be sent within a few minutes. If you do not receive it, please call +377 97 70 22 15. If you are absent, leave a message with your contact details.
