The 10th Monegasque Awareness Week for Children on Environment and Sustainable Development will take place from 10 to 13 June 2014
From 10 to 13 June 2014, Monacology will be returning to the Quai Antoine 1er, opposite the Stars’n’Bars in Monaco - an opportunity to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a rich, varied event.
As every year, this Monegasque association will bring together a varied panel of speakers at fun, educational workshops on the theme of sustainable development.
This year, with more than 30 participants from the voluntary and private sectors and institutions, the show will once again offer many different activities for schoolchildren from the Principality of Monaco, neighbouring towns and Italy. In addition to presenting the participants' activities, the event will also raise awareness of occupations related to protecting the environment, recycling and food waste.
To be more accessible to the public and celebrate its anniversary in an convivial way, Monacology will be open from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. every evening with a "Happy Hour," when children and their parents will be able to discover some new workshops that are open to all, and chat to the exhibitors.
For its tenth event, Monacology wished to support Cestmed's "Tag Your Turtle" project, which aims to release marine turtles fitted with Argos tags into the sea. This will enable the Centre for the Study and Conservation of Marine Mediterranean Turtles (Centre d’Etude et de Sauvegarde des Tortues Marines de Méditerranée) to monitor the turtles and study their behaviour, in order to better protect them.
