2025-2026 season of the Monte-Carlo Opera

The Monte-Carlo Opera is unveiling its 25/26 season, the fourth under the artistic direction of Cecilia Bartoli.

The new season is set to be an intense and poetic one, featuring major works from the repertoire: Mozart's Così fan tutte, Verdi's Aida and Il trovatore, Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande and Wagner's Valkyrie and Flying Dutchman. Cecilia Bartoli will perform the delicate arias of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice and the opera company will pay tribute to Joséphine Baker, the free artist who had a deeply held attachment to the Principality, to mark the fiftieth anniversary of her passing. A series of concerts and recitals will pepper the season with some magical musical highlights, led by the great voices of Roberto Alagna, Plácido Domingo and Elīna Garanča. And, in a first for the Monte-Carlo Opera, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s cult musical Cats will be coming to the Rocher to add some extra sparkle to the festive season.
