This year, the Yacht Club de Monaco is once again hosting the international
Smeralda 888 final. The championship traditionally begins with the Primo Cup and concludes in October. The competitors start in Monaco in February, and then head for St Tropez, San Remo, Porto Cervo and another destination which changes every year, before returning to Monaco to complete the round trip.
The Smeralda 888 is a
one-design boat with a length of 8.88m (hence its name), and a beam of 2.50m.
