Following a rigorous audit of its performance, the Novotel Monte-Carlo has just been awarded ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certification, an international benchmark in environmental management.
On the initiative of the hotel, and thanks to the involvement of all of the staff at the Novotel Monte-Carlo, the establishment was able to begin the demanding process of obtaining this external certification, which is verified by an independent body and reassessed every three years.
This approach is part of Accor's sustainable development program, PLANET 21, which aims to certify 40% of the Group's hotels by 2015.
A year of preparation and 12 months of monitoring and evaluating performance were necessary to introduce the daily management of sustainable development by staff of the hotel.
ISO 14001 certification commits hotels to make continued progress, strengthen staff involvement and raise the awareness of hotel guests.
