Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority in Moscow

Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority (DTC) undertook their latest trip to Russia from 5 to 8 October 2016 with the Government's official delegation and the MEB
In addition to taking part in working days with the MEB at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, the DTC organized a major evening event on 5 October in the beautiful Volkhonka Mansion.  Most of the 200 guests were tourism professionals from Moscow, but also present were business people from Monaco, led by the President, Michel Dotta, as well as the Government's official delegation, headed by the Minister of State, Serge Telle, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gilles Tonelli, the Ambassador of Monaco to the Russian Federation, H.E. Ms. Mireille Pettiti and the Government Communication Department with Monaco Info.

At this evening event, after a few words of welcome by Guillaume Rose, Director of Tourism, followed by cultural entertainment featuring opera and some original, elegant ballet, the Minster of State recalled the historic and professional links that unite the two countries.  He then blew out the candles on an enormous cake to celebrate the 10th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Monaco and Russia.

The following day, the DTC invited thirty or so Russian journalists to a press briefing on the Romanov and Grimaldi exhibition at the famous Tretyakov Gallery.  Mr. Thomas Fouilleron, Director of the Palace Archives, gave several interviews on the subject of this exhibition, which was initiated this summer at the library of the Prince's Palace in Monaco and illustrates an important chapter in the history of these two dynasties, making a link between the two countries.

A diplomatic evening then followed, organized by the Embassy of Monaco in Russia and held at the Moscow Historical Museum on Red Square.  H.E. Ms. Mireille Pettiti gave a speech to the many Russian and Monegasque dignitaries present, recalling the major milestones in relations between Russia and Monaco over the past ten years.

The week came to a close with the signing of an agreement between the Albert II Foundation and the prestigious National Geographical Society of the Russian Federation.  More than ever before, the attraction of "Destination Monaco" for Russian visitors was highlighted during this special week.
